Aboriginal Skills Advancement Program (ASAP)

“Moving Toward a Brighter Future; ASAP!” ASAP delivers an educational training program that is designed to meet the unique needs of Matawa First Nations Members and is specifically aimed at adult learners 22 and above. The program runs 10 months in length and includes academic upgrading, a high school diploma program and provides links for participants to future career and employment goals.

Ring of Fire Aboriginal Training Alliance Project (RoFATA)

“Working together to Move our Communities Forward” RoFATA focuses on skills development and training to Matawa First Nations members for long term meaningful employment. Participants are supported in attaining long term career pathways in the mineral and Mining sectors, or other related occupations resulting from the Ring of Fire, through specialized mining and trades training.

Partnership Development

Partnership development is an integral part of any organization and as such has been woven in the fabric of all KKETS program delivery, employment and training initiatives. KKETS has developed a number of Partnerships to benefit the participants in ways of education to training for employment. It is KKETS goal that through developed partnerships there will be huge opportunities for employment and an overall boost in the development of the Aboriginal workforce.


Aboriginal Skills Employment Training Services

KKETS is an ASSETS agreement Holder through Service Canada and as such has the capacity to deliver and provide opportunities for training and employment through Individual Training Initiatives. Additional Support provided include, mobility, pre-employment Supports, Targeted wage subsidies, job creations, Canada summer jobs, First Nations Inuit Child Care Initiative (FNICCI) and Employment Community Coordinators within each Matawa First Nation.
