Education and Training
In September 2012 KKETS received funding through Human Resources and Skills Development Canada HRSDC from the Strategic Partnership Fund SPF. The main objective is to provide training for employment opportunities for Matawa First Nation Community Members.
Tier 1 Programs:

Tier 2 Programs:
2x Kitchen Helper: 18 participants per session – 7 weeks
2x Surface Diamond Driller Helper: 10 participants per session – 5 weeks
Tier 3 Programs:
3x Heavy Equipment Operator: 10 participants per session – 12 weeks
2x Construction Craft Worker: 10 participants per session – 7 weeks
2x Pre-Trades Carpentry: 10 participants per session – 12 weeks *
2x Mechanical Harvesting: 8 participants per session – 5 weeks
It is our goal to build community capacity and increase Matawa First Nations’ members’ participation in the current labor market workforce and local economy. Employment opportunities through the Employment Integration Services Program (EISP) which will enable the participants to compete in the labour market.
