Wellness Program

The Wellness Team supports KKETS’ commitment to providing culturally relevant, holistic, and community-centered supports that promote student success, personal growth, and long-term wellbeing. Recognizing that education, training, and employment outcomes are closely connected to wellness, the team works to create safe, supportive, and culturally responsive environments where individuals can strengthen their confidence, resilience, and overall quality of life.

KKETS continues to advance a holistic approach to student and workforce development through the integration of wellness programming, mindfulness practices, life skills development, trauma-informed support, emotion regulation, stress management, and workplace wellness strategies. These initiatives are intended to support individuals in developing the personal, emotional, social, and practical skills needed to succeed in education, training, employment, and everyday life. The Wellness Team takes a wholistic approach that recognizes the interconnected relationship between mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing while honouring Indigenous perspectives, cultural teachings, and community values.

The integration of wellness and mindfulness programming is viewed as essential to improving employment readiness, workplace retention, apprenticeship completion rates, communication and conflict resolution skills, confidence, resilience, and long-term workforce participation. By promoting self-awareness, healthy coping strategies, relationship building, and overall balance, KKETS recognizes wellness as a foundational component of sustainable employment outcomes, lifelong learning, and long-term community wellbeing.
